BICEPS FEMORIS

Origin

Long head: upper inner quadrant of post surface of ischial tuberosity. Short head:middle third of linea aspera, lat supracondylar ridge of femur

Action

Flexes and lat rotates knee. Long head extends hip

Insertion

Styloid process of head of fibula. lat collateral lig and lat tibial condyle

Nerve

Long head: tibial portion of sciatic N. Short head: common peroneal portion of sciatic N (both L5, S1)
