Origin

Flexor retinaculum and tubercle of trapezium

Action

Opposes (med rotates and flexes ) CMC and MCP jnts of thumb

Insertion

Whole of radial border of 1st MC

Nerve

Recurrent (muscular) br of median N (C8,T1) (may also be from deep br of ulnar N (T1))
